Hi all,
I'm working on a project inspired by this pic:
The picture shows an Achilles tank destroyer moving pas one of the landing zones of Operation Varsity during the Rhine river crossings.
My question is:
Could I use an A34 Comet crossing one of the British (or US) landing zones instead of an Achilles? I think the combination of British (or US) airborne troops with a Comet gives more the idea of a late-war Rhine crossing dio, whilst the combination with an Achilles could also work for i.e. a Normandy setting...
I can't find clear information though where exactly the Comets were deployed during the Rhine crossings and if they made contact with British (or US) airborne at all.
Thanks in advance,
Martin

I belive only the 11th Armoured Division recieved Comets before the wars end. The 7th Armoured Div got theirs in time for the victory parades. I'm not sure which line of advance the 11th were taking at the time of Varsity.
