I'm finished my new dio...No Surrender...well almost..a few little things here and there...
Its Dragons Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf D. The figures are a mix of Platoon, Dragon, Verlinden, Hornet, Warriors, and Jaguar.
Sorry for the poor photo quality.

Well done! The dio is very well composed. Great figure painting also.
I don't see any problem with the photoquality.
The only nitpick for me is that the grass is a bit to regular. I think it would be better not to see the individual tufts (sp?).
Cheers
Claude

I like the painting on the figs as well. Very well done. The whole dio does convey a sense of tension but what really caught my eye was the sharp contrast between the almost peaceful setting conveyed by the presence of flowers versus death and destruction happening in the middle of it.
My only very small nitpicks would be the flow of the scene. I'm guessing the crater marks what is likely to be a recent explosion which took out the fencing thus followed by the rush of troops. Perhaps adding a bit of half buried wire sticking out at the periphery of the crater and spilling out partially into the trench may tie in the crater better as the crater occupies a substantial area of your dio. Again it depends on the viewer but bomb craters do take up a fair bit of space and are often uninteresting by themselves unless there's water or a figure or unfortunately something dead in it. However, the crater doesn't affect what is essentially a very good dio, but its just that for me showing half the crater with the other half outside the dio would have been just as effective.
Again not critical but having some dust or soil lightly covering the 2 russians in the trench may tie them in to the groundwork while adding more desperation to the scene in that they have just endured a shelling. Having another figure shell shock or struggling to recover from the recent shelling or reaching out to his dead buddy is another way to add to the desperate situation their in. Even having the MG gunner train his gun into the trench may force the viewer to focus on the Russians, which for me would be the focus of the dio.
Please don't get me wrong as I really think its a very good action dio and there's no real right or wrong way to go about it.

I like the uniforms as well. You were not afraid to lay down that dark shading in the deep crevices and really lighten the highpoints. I have not been able to make those stand out as dramatic for fear of ruining the blend.
I really like the dirt. How did you do that?
