Hi all,
During next months I will work on this Hetzer from tamiya.
Because I will use Modelkasten tracks I must change the Idler and drive-sprocket otherwise the tracks won't fit.
Note , the difference between the Tamiya wheels and those from Modelkasten. The MK's are much finer , and have crispy details.
Also I added some PE from the Voyagerset to the hull. These are excellent in detail , and are a joy to work with.
Best regards
André

That's quite a difference on the idler, thanks for the comparison pics. Look forward to seeing this one built up and painted.

i'm planning on picking one up.There is quite a difference between the idlers.

Nice work. I have the Dragon Hetzer on order (it was sent, but defective because not all parts included). I'll see if it ever show up, since I think it's OOP now.

Thanks all
Today I have kept myself busy with the fenders.
It is the first time that I will make a model with battle damages.
The fenders have already battle damages.
Now is it the question is this this way good or already too much??

Sorry, that idler is for the 38t and too small - the Hetzer used a larger diameter idler. Its quite a bit different.
Nice work on the kit though.

I was n't happy with the left fender so I decided to "rebuilt "it.
So I re-worked the dents and other small things.
I want to do some reasonble ( but not to much ) damage to the left side , so
the front fender will be missing.
What do you think ? Opinions please !
Regards
André

Chris, you're right, I'd forgotten about the difference in the idler for the Hetzer vs. the other 38(t) vehicles.

Looking Good I am working on the same kit and am up to painting but have not used the front fenders as not much difference that I see.
I don't like Voyager PE at all to hard almost like Aber but even worse.
To bad about the idler though I guess you should be able to use the kit one actually the Tamiya tracks are not bad at all in this kit.
Most are hidden anyway.
Can't wait to see it painted.
What Camo are you using?
I am going 3 color regular Hard edged on this one when I do the Dragon one will try the funny one with the Dog bones.
Forgot to add change that barrel with the Lionmarc one great Little beast and the right length plus the
rifling.
I do like how you added little shaved bolt heads to the Fender brackets Nifty idea, crap I just soldered mine on,but will try that on the next one.
Thinking of getting that Osprey book on them.
One little comment to add though is the side skirt with a wave in it think the bracket would break before the wave.

Great looking build! i am curious about the hinge arrangement on the rear of the vehicle on the top right....i believe this is the gunners hatches. your model shows hinges that appear to allow the upper half of the hatch move either up and down or from the right to the left, is that really how this door worked? I was admiring the great work you did on the hinges, very nice, but this looked odd to me and made me curious. maybe i just can't see enough detail.
Will follow your build, keep up good work.

Dear André: You can not use idlers and sprockets from a 38(t). The idler of a hetzer is larger, as is the sprocket . The 38(t) sprocket has 19 teeth, and the hetzer one 20 .
But a very neat buid.

It seems to be a crime to cover all that nice photo-etch work but it does look nice with the paint too. Looking forward to more of your progress.

Very good work Andre, I just built this kit myself but with no pe. It's a sweet little kit.
Yours looks really good with the basecoat. Will you add camouflage?
