hi there guys!!
i need some help on a dio.. im atm in the middle of building the 88mm flak 36 from tamiya! great kit easy to understand and build . have painted it german grey.
i want to use my 88 in AA role rather than tank destroyer role!!
in normandy! d-day plus 1.. but having not been taken out by american 101st paratroopers..
im thinking of putting the flak 88 next to a barn and american paratroops on opposite side of barn getting ready to attack!! i have looked on the net for barn or the nearest thing that comes close to them and miniart have the results but which 1 to choose! ( pictures below ) i dont know whether the barn would be damaged abit or not!!
I also need a gun crew where there focusing on the skies aswell can anyone suggest any crews??
i have an idea for the surroundings i just need a flak crew and a barn!!

First problem--the gray scheme had been discontinued in February 1943. Since Allied fighter bombers were a major threat, cammo was of serious importance, and paint was often supplemented with freshly cut branches. More probable scheme would Dark Yellow base coat and random overspray of Olive Green and Red Brown.
I see where you're going dramatically with wanting the barn to serve as cover for your advancing paratroopers, but consider this--an antiaircraft gun needs an unrestricted 360 degree field of fire, and a large building would block that if it were close enough to fit in your diorama. You may want to rethink things a bit. As for Flak gunners, there are a couple of sets for the Dragon and Tristar light 20 mm Flak kits that include one or two guys looking up. The remaining crew would be concentrating on their jobs, setting the fuses or uncrating ammo rounds, not staring at the target.
