Hello there, pilgrims
Unfortunately my airbrush broke and it'll be a month until the parts arrive. I have a couple of bases I'd like to finish and I'll have to resort to some brush painting.
I have Humbrol, Vallejo, Lifecolor and Tamiya paints with me. I'd like to know if any of you have experience painting bases with oils or with these brands I mention. Some tips would be highly appreciated!
Here is what I'd like to finish painting. At the moment it's already primed black:
Cheers,
Francisco

A shame about the airbrush.
I have no experience with Lifecolor, but you should be able to use any of the other brands. Just make sure you dilute the paint quite a lot(50:50 or more), for the groundwork. If the paint is to thick, it will be dificult to get into all the small holes and crevasses. If the texture of the groundwork is very rough, don't use an expensive brush.
Good luck

I've used Oils for bases/groundwork and I put down a basecoat of acrylics first. Then I use a filter of my base oil color, usually a bit thicker than a filter I would use on a vehicle. Then I go back in with washes of tons of shades of the colors I'm using. It's very doable.
