Aftermarket armbands for figures

I wondered if there are any aftermarket armbands to apply to figures, either decals, photoetch, etc.? I wondered about making readily-available civilian figures into Volkssturm soldiers (German home guard). Thanks.

I would cut thin strips of tissue paper and apply it the figures with white glue (Elmer's) and water. Then paint them. I don't think PE would look right because it would not lay right on the sleeve.
Another idea would be to cut thin strips of solid color decal paper and apply that.

There aren't any that I know of either.
Archer did some WWII German cuff titles stuff, but not any of the volksturm armbands. I had asked them about it, but they said that they probably would not sell enough to be worthwhile.
