I posted this question on the Warwheels forum without any luck so thought I would try here as well.
Do any of you guys know if there are major differences between the V100 and V150 commando armoured cars?
I have the Hobby Fan V150 in 1/35 scale but really want to make it a Vietnam based V100. Would the outside look different or is it just the internals that are different?
Thanks for any help you can supply.

I believe the major differences were the engine and driveline. The basic hull was the same. They stretched the V-150 from 18 to 20 feet with the V 150S, but i think the V 100 and 150 shared the same dimensions.
Here's some good pics for ya,....
V-100

I asked the same question for the same reason one I first started coming to the board. I looked at all the different ways that it might be converted and it would be a lot of work, more then I would think worth the effort.
I would just use the Verlinden kit. It is just a big chuck of resin, but in my opinion still build into a nice model with a little work. Also, a company annouced at Nuremburg that they are supposed to be producing one this year. I don't recall which though, maybe someone here can help. I am really looking forward to this, if it is produced. I have been wanting to do one of these as well as the Air Force version for some time.

Quoted Text
Bronco announced they were doing the M706 (V100) and the V150.
Its not Bronco that is doing them, but Hobby Boss.

For more information, try to find the fairly recent Osprey book covering the V-100/XM-706 armored car Commando. Good information and background. The Squadron book covering US Armored Cars also has a section devoted to the V-100, with a lot of detail photos of a Commando operated these days by the Albuquerque NM police department.
Like the others, it would be incredible to have something more comprehensive in my colelction than the 20-year old Verlinden resin brick!! I'll keep checking for release news on these!

Another reference would be Hunnicutt's "Armored Car: A History of American Wheeled Combat Vehicles". Only $64.40 (USD) from Amazon.
