Can any well tell which version should have the straight ronded screen and which ones have the one that is flat then slopes up to a rounded one. I belive that all early say up to late 42 have the plan round one and everything after that (KV-1S, SU-152) have the sloped ones. Did any KV-2 or plan KV-1 have the sloped ones. Finding pics that show this area seems to be near impossible do to the small detial when compared to the size of the tank and the location in respect to the over hang of the turrents.

It's my understanding that the early, fully rounded screens were in production up until mid (May?June?July?) 1941, with the sloped screens being used from then on. I'm sure there is some variation to that, and maybe one of our resident STE's (Soviet Tank Experts) will help clarify...

If you're building a KV, you should also check out this KV Seminar by Neil Stokes.

The round front mesh screens are included in the Lion Roar photoetch sets (available from Luckymodel.com), and the Aber screen set can be completed in either configuration. Only the very earliest KV tanks had these.
