Can someone please tell me what exactly is a Sherman T-23? Also in the title of Sherman HVSS, What does the HVSS stand for?

HVSS is Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension. it is the later suspension which let the tank travel better over rough terrain.
Also the Sherman T-23 was
The T-23 turret with the M1A1 L/53 76mm gun was originally designed for an experimental American medium tank design also known by the same designation "T-23".

FYI the HVSS suspension is also identified in the nomenclature as "E8" like M4A3E8 meaning an M4A3 with the HVSS suspension. The "E8" is also referred to as "Easy Eight", a nickname given to it by WW2 GIs.
