Hey all, I am nearing completion of a bodged together accurate armour staghound and scratchbuilt PR-3 60LB rocket launchers. Does anyone have a set of 12th Dragoons decals I can buy off them for this beautiful little beasty? Let me know if you do and what you would like for them.

Cheers

Hi FN sorry can't help you with the decals ...I'm still waiting for my set from Bison to show up ..(2 months later) If anyone offers you those from the Bronco stahound kit ,be careful as the decals are wrong ..they have the modern type maple leaf on the decal instead of the WWII type ...

I'd be interested in seeing any details on markings/images for 12th Dragoons Stags (with or without rockets ) I'll try and get images posted on my scratchbuild for the Canadian deep wading gear when I get a chance. No it isn't 12th Dragoons but interesting nevertheless:

Hurry up with those 60lb rockets - it'll bring the Bronco kit out quicker...

Hi Richard

I have the Bronco Staghound kit and I have't gotten to the decalling stage yet so thanks for the advance warning. What should the decal look like...do you have some images or ref's? I'd like to see what I have to do to correct them.

thanks.....

Do a google image search for 12th Manitoba Dragoons.....you will find image links to good photos that show the tactical markings.

Armoured Acorn has PDF colour plates with the proper markings for the 12th Manitoba Dragoons' Staghounds.......Canadian Vehicle Markings....Part 41.

Another thing about the Staghound is that they were still being used until the late 1950s with Canadian Armoured Recce Regiments.....The Royal Canadian Hussars were still using them in late 1958......they used the cross country chevron patterned tires....like the Hussar Productions tires.

Neat to see something related to Manitoba in a place as far away as Belgium.

I wouldn't be able to check until Tuesday but I can take a look and see if the local hobby shop has some decals that might help. I thought I saw them at one point having decals for that unit. Hey, I'll need to stop by anyway to buy more stuff. Always need more stuff.

Hi Bob ..Here's a link to Armoured Acorn site ...You can see what Bronco has as the number 181 in the black square ,should actually be 18I ..I as in India . Also the shape of the maple leaf is more like the modern type of Maple leaf instead of the more natural looking leaf used during the war ...As for the Bison decals ,..I'm kinda disappointed in them as again the maple leafs look a bit too modern to me ,but better than the Bronco decals and also on my set the 44 on the blue green and white are badly distorted .

Cool, thanks Richard, I just hadn't looked closely enough yet to notice the difference between the modern and WWII versions.
