Thanks Mat. Those are just what the surgeon ordered. I've got the Toadmans tank photo's cd so I've got LOTS to work with and you've got some shots he didn't of the fighting compartment . WONDERFUL!!!!!! I worked on the turret ring and gun breech some last night. I had to shorten the kit parts CONSIDERABLY even after opening up the turret and hull holes but all is coming together rather well... I'll post some more pics soon

Yup, it's silver with the gun breech being painted green.

Nope, it's a "ruster". . .
Glad the photos were of some use. Some of the nicest people in the world are the volunteers at the Patton Museum, they'll help you look over, under, or into darned dear anything in the museum.

Hi Todd
I'm also building this nice tank and trying to add full interior (well, except engine compartment). I'm really curious how did you finish the whole gun assembly to fit into turret.... after shortening and narrowing and shortening again I decided to use only breech block and main tube and scratch built the rest
Maybe I can show some photos of my model if you wish

That would be great ptr. I'd like to see how you did yours. I haven't narrowed anything as yet but now that you mention it I need to look at that too. I opened up the turret ring to its 'proper' diameter or as near as I could figure it anyway ( should have taken b4 and afters of that). The gun assembly was STILL too long so I cut it down by almost 3/4 of it's original length. its just about right now and once I add the breach shield on to it I should be in good shape.

Hello Todd
On this photo is turret interior almost finished. I have used Bronco's resin mantlet, which is solid from inside, so this is one of reasons to shorten the whole gun assembly. Even if I widened out the turret ring, it is still too narrow but I met some "technological limits". The gun assembly in the kit is nicely done but from my point of view it is sutable for M10 Achilles, but wrong for Comet.
On the next not so good photo you can see one of older attempts to make new gun assembly (not the final one) just to illustrate what is original and what is newly made.
regards
Petr
