Does anyone know the color scheme of the Grossdeutschland Panthers?

That's a really broad question.

The Grossdeutschland Div was issued all types of Panthers and used them for nearly 3 years during the war. The exact schemes are best left to matching with a photograph.

Can you give us some idea of which Panther you are modeling - Panther D, A or G?

Can you tell us something about which part of the war you are interested in?

Thanks,
Tim

Time frame would be battle of Kurland and Targul-Frumos. I'm looking at Panther A and G.
Thanks

Fortunately, Panther paint schemes were wide and varied, even with individual units. About the only thing to be sure of is that they have a Dark Yellow base.

Tim really got it right. German armor really varies from unit to unit and from tank to tank, especially late war units. If you really like the Panther, pick up the Squadron in Action book, it has a ton of pics for not much money. Do yourself an even bigger favor and pick up Thomas Jentzs' Panther:Quest for Combat Supremacy. (Schiffer) NOT cheap, but the definitive work on this tank. The book: German Tanks of WW II in color is pretty good for around $10 as well.

Good luck. I just got back into armor and I have 5 Panthers waiting patiently to be brought to life...
