Whats YOUR record?
Hey boys,
I was working at my bench on this certain project last night, making good progress i might add, when i looked at the clock on the wall and realized 5 1/2 hours have passed.
Just thought this would be a cool topic to send out there...
What has been your longest modeling session you can remember ever doin?
Belive me, right now, my eyes will never let me forget this one..

I'm not sure what my longest is, certainly not 5 1/2 hrs, that's for sure. But, that is what I love about the hobby. I can sit down to work on a project, and literally hours pass peacefully and quietly away. It gets me to a peaceful state of mind, with no hang-over to deal with in the morning.

A one sit down no break I'd have to say maybe 4 hours. But I have had days where it has been sit for 1-2 hours, wait for glue/paint to dry, sit back down, get lunch, sit back down, wait for glue to dry take a break, sit back down. And have had easily 12 - 13 hours chewed up that way.

Ive just done 11 hours straight, but that was self inflicted as I had a big painting fix to get sorted.
Not a usual day at all,,but on a free day I'll probably do 5 or 6 hours during the course of the day in short stretches.

The longest session that I can remember was a couple years ago I was working on a perfect grade Zeta gundam. I started building this thing at noon on Saturday and with taking a short break for lunch and dinner I didn’t stop working on this thing till about 4 or 5 a.m. Sunday morning. I definitely won’t be going that hog wild like that on a kit again.

I got to work on the base for my Sherman a few weeks ago at around 15:00 and didn't quit until my roommate threw a box of kleenex at me around 2am. The original glue mix just did not want to sit. Quick-dry my a**!

I once had a day at home alone. Perfect opportunity to go out to the peaceful shed and model all day long, without parents hounding me to death. (9am start, 12:30pm come in for lunch, 4pm come in for afternoon tea, 7pm come in for dinner, 9pm come in for bed).
That's 12 hours with breaks.

During the week, after work, I generally average 1-2 hours. On an average Saturday or sunday 4-8 hours. My longest has got to be in the 12-14 hour range though....with breaks of course. Luckily my wife is very supportive of my modelling addiction!

As my gradparents were fond of old sayings, time flies when your having fun. Wife would rather I be building than out drinking. Deffenitly keeps me out of the dog house, except when I'm on a buying spree.

Bob,
Couldn't agree more on the' home instead of ' part. I may not answer my wife's question real quick, but I always answer and she can understand what I say. My longest session could only be 2 - 3 hours or I won't be able to get up without help. Old knee injury. Got to move around keep the joint from stiffening in one position. When I was a young pup I remember staying up overnight some times to get one done.

I have had all day sessions as well. But I would say an average of 2-4 hours.
