Hi
I would like to place my King tiger w/zimmerit from DML in a 1944 urban setting. I would like to have my king tiger fighting its way in an harbor, railway yard, near a dock, or any other industrial area. But I have no clue how I could lay this out. If anyone has ideas or tips they will be most welcome. I also would like to know if their is a manufacturer that produces cranes, heavy machinery and other industrial machinery found in the places mentionned above.
Thanks for the help.
Cheers

Hey Mahdi Sounds like a good plan! Why not send [AlanL] a private message? I know that on his big dock scene he has used a small crane amongst other things, and will be able to steer you in the right direction. Al's a top bloke and will be only too happy to help out

Hi Mahdi,
Just came across your post. I don't know much about the deployment of the King Tiger other than 1 in Normandy and those used in the Battle of the Buldge.
On cranes there are two 1/35 options that I know off.
MIG 35114 European Harbour/Railway Cargo Crane
and
CMK RA033 Kohlenkran DR - Coal Crane
Here's a link to Netmerchants where you can have a look at them
http://www.netmerchants.co.uk/search.php?jssCart=12b149fa4edf9d16cc6b3ea3a911f48e
Just type the word Crane in the Search option on the top RHS
Are you thinking Eastern or Western Europe? If the King was deployed in the East, then I would be inclined to go for a railway setting as there are a lot of bits available, ie track, goods wagons etc plus there are a great variety of good Russians for it to attack., think the hand to hand German/Russian sets (MB or MiniArt)
I am sure there will be an option in the West too around the Batle of the Buldge time but that would be a Winter setting.
Hopefully some of the German experts will be able to give you more precise info but a good starting point would be time/season and theatre of war.
Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks for all the ideas. I was thinking of a King tiger in Danzig or Konisberg. Or a railway setting in cities where their where major battles. Warsaw, Breslau, Budapest, Poznan or any other. I'm not sure where I should place the objects on my scene.
this is what inspired me to build a scene of the sort. (replacing the LWS with a king tiger and adding other machinery and stuff.)

Mahdi,
Don't overlook the railway hobby shops, or the RC shops for resources. Some hobbyist don't ever think about other hobbyist resources for their use. I have even found resources in fine arts stores and craft work stores. Lucky that I have a very supportive wife who has contributed to my hobby addiction by giving me things from right here in the house to use for some things I would have otherwise gone out and bought. She calls it being "frugal". But I call it being cheap. Hell it works is all I can say.
