I meant to put this in softskins originally instead of just "Forums". Sorry about that.
Anyway, I see that Tamiya has come out with a new 3t Opel Blitz. http://www.tamiya.com/english/news/news0804/news2.htm#35291. Being a new tool I guess this is a good thing and I can't wait untill it becomes available. The only thing is, I don't think we need this. With all of the new weaponry available, ie., Pak 43/41, K.18 10 and 15 cm., and all of the flak 88's to boot, I'd rather Tamiya rerelease #35148 (Sd.Kfz.7, 8t.half track) than do a "new tool" Blitz. I've built two 8t half track prime movers in the past. With an etched set and after market tracks this kit is awsome. I still own a couple of the 7/1's and 7/2's but haven't built these yet. But it's prime movers I'm talking about! Come on Tamiya! Let's see new toolings of 8t and 5t half tracks up to your 18t standards. Please?

Well it got a very positive reaction when we announced it in the news section:

I won't get one myself but I think it's a good thing that Tamiya is doing a new tooled kit in 1/35.

I like the idea of a better kit than the old Italeri, but I'm afraid it will be ridiculously expensive (around $50 or even more), especially considering the US dollar is going down the toilet...
