Hi Tom
Tamiya's kit #35159 is listed as being "available" on Lucky Model website, so all hopes are not lost : this should means that it can still be found...but be prepared to be patient
http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=TA%2035159
As they say on the website : "available" ="It has 80% chance that the item still be available." ...

You might be waiting a while. I've been using LuckyModel for about 3 years now, and the AAVP7 has always been listed as "Available" - I've never seen it "In Stock".

They come up on Ebay from time to time. If you really want the kit, try there. I think interest had died down in the kit over the past few years because it needs so much work to update it to modern standards. Thats my guess why you dont find them in hobby stores inventories.

There has been a new AAVP-7A1with the EEK announced by HobbyBoss which is slated for release in the first half of this year, it might be worth waiting for that rather than attempt to spruce up the old Tamiya one?

I hear you Tom. I got mine off of ebay. it was a long wait. you thing tamiya would have put out again after the start of OIF. They put out the M1A2 and the M-113. There are differnce to the model they could reproduce like the suspenision is Bradley(another one put out atfter the start of OIF) the exhuast stack is on the outside now. So i dont know. I went to the Tamiya_Con a couple years ago and there had suggestion cards and i put the AAV down with EAAk armor, Ram/Rs, and the mk-154 land mine clearence kit. i even offered to help with the reference pictures cause at the time I was in a AAV bn at camp pendleton. But i guess it fell on deaf ears. I finally got one and I am doing the interior and EAAK. I am hoping to be ready for the Tamiya-Con next year. If you get your hands on a kit let me know i got interior pictures.
