Hi all. I have been a frequent visitor to this site, but have never contributed - so far.
I finished this little stryker yesterday and thought I might share it with the community, since the braille-forum has been a little inactive for some time. It is basically the trumpeter stryker OOB, I only changed a few things.
Modifications were made to the RWS using sheet styrene, leftovers from PE and wire. Handlebars were generally replaced by wire. The 50. cal is from a Dragon HUMVEE-Kit, the tow-shackles are from an unknown Revell armour kit.
I also redid the quadratic-thingy (really, I have no idea what that is) on the rear top of the vehicle, because trumpeter had it moulded in one solid brick. It is far from perfect but in my opinion looks much better than the kit part.
canteens will be added later, as will antennas.
Paint is next, but only after I manage to get my hands on a new compressor, which may take a while.
Hope you like it.

Looks like it turned out pretty darn well. I still haven't acquired one yet, but after seeing yours it just might be sooner than later

Stefan,
Thanks for posting your build for all of us to see! Excellent job on making some corrections to an otherwise good kit making it even better!!! Looks like you have quiet a bit of scatch building experience under your belt there. . .
Looking forward to seeing your build with some paint on it! Have you considered an air cylinder filled with carbon dioxide with gaged pressure regulater valve for your air brush? Lots of advantages over a compressor (quite, no water build up or water traps to worry about, consistant and steady uninterrupted flow to the airbrush).

I have this M1126 too. I bought it when it is just released in China. When I finished it, AFV club release the same vehicle with a more accurate size and more detailed tires. AFV's is greater.
Hoping to see the finished work! There is no poor kits, only poor technique.

errrrr This particular Trumpeter is 1/72 (the only one in this scale). The AFV is 1/35 correct?

Sorry for the long delay, but I was quite busy. However, I managed to work a little on the smallscale Stryker.
Here are some pics:
Thats it for today, updates will follow, but possibly not anytime soon, since I have been bitten by a very nasty BMD-2 bug from the Ukraine! Photos of this build will be up soon...

Great paint job especially considering its 1/72 scale.

Yours is turning out very well. I broke down and ordered one myself. Basic assembly is started, but I like the detailing you did. Just working on getting some decent reference material to finish mine. I'm still working on my weathering and detailing so yours is quite the inspiration. Mine might stall out a bit as I'd like to put it in a diorama at some point. Decisions, decisions......
