I just ordered this thing because I decided it would be ideal for a "generic" European setting, not specific to any narrow time period or location:

But is this a copy of a specific statue, and if so, what and where? Is the rider supposed to be anyone specific? Or is this just some sort of composite statue that looks Suropean enough but is deliberately meant to be vague? Thanks.

Tom,
Could be pretty much anyone from anywhere. Although the helmet suggests pre or even WWI so it may have been modeled after some one specific, possibly from the town of the master modeler.
Just my take on the info provided.
