here it is my second venture into the world of wwII german armour. if you looked at the build log then you'l know a little bit about how i made this beast of a tank. i used glue to stick it together and mainly vallejo acrylics and mig oil's & pigments to weather.it ain't perfect but i did enjoy making it.
also to everyone that left a comment on the build log thanks alot.
cheer's frank, the advice was very helpful.

Neil,

Followed your build log and enjoyed viewing the pics of your ongoing build progress. Thank you so much for sharing your build with all of us out here on the internet. Super job on your early Tiger II. You made putting the kit together look so easy.

Good recovery on the tracks! Although from the pics on the build log they looked fine to me but things do not always look exactly the same on pictures as they do having it right in front of your eyes. Hoping to see you do more build logs.

Nice job on the build, painting and photo..
.
May I ask why the tracks have been painted to look 'Rusty' ???

My query is based on knowing roughly how long it takes for a set of Steel tracks to look like that after use and the edges of the Steel road wheels and sprockets are perfectly free of any, (rusting)...?

Keith.

thanks for the great comments guys
keith the reason that i tried to make the tracks look rusty was me just trying something differen't.i used to only make modern afv and fancied a change of direction and wanted to try my hand at some of the diferent colour schemes that the german's used in wwII.

thank's again
i'm also pleased with the overall finish but the tracks just dont look right.i think i will strip them again and go for a more dark steel finish.as keith rightly pointed out the tracks are rusty but the steel wheel's/sprockets are'nt, to my eye they look out of place. i wil also remove one link from each track. then i might at last be happy with it

Neil,

Great looking tiger. The "how to" photo of the set up to do the photo's is also a great shot for others to get an idea on how to do good photos for posting. I know that not everybody has SLR cameras but the idea of the blue background is just terrific. Again outstanding work.

I think it looks great. I wouldn't mess with the tracks.

hi carl
honestly the tracks just don't look right. when my wife said they 'looked plasticky' that was the final nail in the coffin of the rusty tracks.
hi alex
the next build is a dml tiger 1 late(6406)
i think the later one's (april '44) had a four segment turret gaurd without zimmerit
