This is UM’s 72nd scale late Hetzer finished in a heavily worn Winter whitewash camo. I was inspired to attempt this finish after seeing Mike Rinaldi’s outstanding 48th scale Hetzer in a similar scheme, also by Phil Stutscinskas and his novel hairspray weathering technique. There’s a small Winter scene with figures in progress, but as I was attempting to finish this for a model show next week, they’re unlikely to be finished by then.

Wow - 1/72 scale - Great job.
I missed the Hairspray technique can you point me in the direction of that thread/feature?

There's been a few discussions on the hairspray technique - a good one is here:

Outstanding job, very nice.
Nice detailing and the whitewash looks great (and at 1/72 - WOW).
Too bad about the show - I think you could have a winner !

That is really well done. Great paint job! How long did it take? Did you run into any problems with the kit construction along the way?

Hi - Thanks for your comments, the kit took a few months to build. There were no real problems and the parts all fit quite well, although lots of detail that I decided could be improved on which took most of the time.
Thanks!

Alex,
I remember that sometime ago you mentioned that your production rate is a little slow. Well, it sure is worth the wait for me and I'm sure for many to see some of your builds. Totally OUTSTANDING!!!
At first I thought it was a 35th scale build but your mention of the scale made me look very hard to see if it was indeed a 72nd scale build. And still it is very hard to believe? Very good pics. Keep up the excellent work. FIRST PLACE all the way!
