What was the operatinal use of German IR equipment in WWII? Specifically as it relates to the Panther. Was there equipment captured by the Allies during/after the war with the IR gear on it?
Thanks in advance,

At the very end of the war, Infra red Panthers were deployed on the Eastern front, but It is questionable whether any saw real action.. There were two types of I.R. supposedly used on Panthers, Solution A and B.

Nate,
The I.R. had serious disadvantages, the Soviets figured out they could use spotlights to disable it.. It was probably researched, but I don't know of any U.S. usage..
