This is my firs post at Armorama, so - hello everybody. My name is Kuba and I'm a modeler from Poland. I build only Humvees, but except this everything is OK with me If anything is not OK with my English, I apologize for it.

I'm looking for any informations about Special Forces Humvees in Desert Shield/Storm. Expecially about those ones used in SCUD hunting missions. I've found one picture here:
http://www.specialoperations.com/Operations/Desert_Storm/Operations3.htm
and excellent model of Jirka Skarka here:
http://www.track-link.net/gallery/2460

Also I've found a gallery of one of Armorama members (Gary - troubble27) here:
http://gallery.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php/cat/17272
I think this is Desert Storm Humvee too, but I have no informations about this version.

One of these two Humvee versions will be at my workbench in close future, but any more information will be great help for me.

Thanks for Your answer. I've been watching these two topics very carefully, but both of them are about OIF and I'm looking for older Gulf War informations.

Like you, I asked this question a while ago and got no reply. I hunted for the Jirka Skarka models and like you I found it. I think some models transcend the mere hobby or craft exercise into an art form and I think Jirka's piece is one of them and I wrote to tell him just that.
I think you've found what's available. Have you read "One Bullet Away" and "Generation Kill"? Both these books explain the use of the vehicles you like and they have a few pictures as well.
Moving to the hard tops with no windows you have these images from Military Photos,

I wish you luck with your project, I have a HMMWV kit set aside for such a project but for now Jirka's is the benchmark for me.

Thank You, William, for reply and for link to photos. I decided to build... both versions, Jirka Skarka's one and trouble27's one, as well as Dumvee from OIF Both of them (Desert Storm I mean) are quite easy to convert from Tamiya models. There will be more troubles with building OIF Dumvee, but there's a plenty of pictures of such version.

"One Bullet Away" and "Generation Kill" - I haven't read these books and I think it won't be easy to get them in Poland. Could You send me the scans of pictures from these books, if You have them of course?

It they are paperback books and not easy to scan, but what was more important than the pictures was the sense of the situation these HMMWV's were used in to give life to the model. The pictures weren't great, certainly not good enough to model from. Trouble 27 did a good job on his, it looks the part.
I'll search my HMMWV files because I know there were pictures on Smug Mug or something that had a good photo spread of that HMMWV type.
