Im working on an M1097A2 up-armored personnel carrier humvee, and im a bit stuck on where to put the antenna base for the SINCGARS, ive seen some with it fitted onto a mount on the rear of the vehicle-would this just then be wired to the main radio unit? Any other ideas as to where it should be mounted and how it would be wired up?
Any help appreciated-ive not been working on any humvee's for a while so forgot most of what i used to know about em

I don't know if it's on your hummer. But on mine its on the back of the hummer. There do you have two things sticking out.

Location of the antennae is going to be dictated by the configuration of the M1097A2.
What armored configuration are you building?

Not to sure what you mean Brent by armored configuration, but mine is the cargo/troop carrier version with the bench seats in the back, like this:
but with an open cab and armored with Hardox sheets.

Rob,
It would still go in the back, left or right rear fender above the tail light next to the corner. 4 holes are drilled for the matching unit (antenna base) mount, 3 small holes in a triangular formation with the point pointed down and one larger hole in the center to accomidate the cable.
As in this one on the left:
Or like this one with just the mounting holes for the mount on the left rear fender above the tail marker:

I have seen the M1097A2 chassis used in three different armored configurations. You answered and subsequently got a great answer from EPI.
Be sure to post pictures of your build. Happy modelling.
