Hi guys,
I could wirte his to "figure talk" but..M113 doesn't want me to get lost in every subjects, that's why i'm writing here.
There are some soldiers !? With white caps (not helmet) and khaki shirts and dark blue pants, w/red stripes at sides.
I see them at consulates, in front of main entrances or headquarters etc..
The questions are :
1) Who are they ? How u call them ? Are they marines or army ?
2) Is there any 1/35 or 1/16 figures of these in the market ?
3) If not, any idea how can i make such a figure ?
Thanx from now.

They could be U.S. Marines Embassy Guards but I'm not sure. Sometimes the U.S. Embassy contracts front-gate guards to the host nation while the Marines stay inside the compound.
Here are some 1/35 figures you may wish to modify. You'll have to change the gear with DML 1/35 modern figures. Below are the URLs for Academy's French Foreign Legion. I think they might work because technically, I don't know of any Marines in such uniforms.

Thanks Trisaw.
I've checked the url's u wrote..but..nope
Note these ones. I mean no big things can be done with a mix of these and DML.
The one i'm talking about dont have battle gear on, at all.
They even have white gloves :-)
They are like HQ personnel. Pants always ironed, uniform always clean etc..
I'll wait Thanx again for your helps

Hello Ladymodeler2,
So far, to the best of my knowledge...HA, there are no figures of a Modern US Marine in either Blue Dress A or Blue Dress C in any scale. I too have been looking for such figures. The closest figure I have seen that is a approximate "type" is the British Guards from Fort Duquesne.
It would be nice to see these figures in 1/35 or 120mm...I prefer 1/35 myself. I will be going to the Big figure show in Illinois in October, (the Military Modeling Society of Illinois show), and if there is a figure made of these guys (or gals) this willbe the place to find out about it. Sorry you may have to wait until then...
I know that embassy guards in hostile territory, like Beruit in the 80's, the marines were in battle fatigues, if that helps.

When you consider what the modelling companies are going to be coming out with as a result of the GWII we should see lots of new stuff. The Marines featured prominently in this war and there should be lots of interest in them.

Yeah, the main problem is that figures tend to be so much more of a crap shoot. One of my club members is a fantastic artist, and has sculpted/done masters for many companies. Most of those companies are long gone because the figure industry is, quite frankly, scary. People are VERY apprehensive about painting figures, and for good reason. Just putting on a slather of flesh color and the old "white golf-balls" with black dots really looks...aweful. People look at all that wonderfull volstad cover art, look at the figgie, and just loose all hope. Who then want s to go spend even more on resin figs that willnever look good?
I do have a plan. (I just KNEW you were all holding your breath.) I am seriously working on a painting system, using acrylics, that will help make face/hand/leg painting easy. I am very close to perfecting the technique, then, off to share it with the world. No, I do not think Shep Paine or Bill Horan have anything to worry about, but I think it willhelp all of us moderate builders get those figures out, and feel good about them.
And just so I can brag the heck out of myself, here is a link to the last figgie I did with this technique
http://members.tripod.com/saammodels/Pictures/otherbuild/sskarkov/index.htm
I have also done up a Female russian tank officer from WWII, a junior town kit, and will have her finished shortly as well, to show that this technique does apply to all types. I just have to work on a asian and african face to see if it translates well to them...and I suppose a Indian/mexican and american Indian too. Oh well, my work is never done!
