Would it be safe to say that a european styled based building from any one of the manufactors would be some what accurate for a nice dio from a modern era war. Most of the buildings are ruined but there are a few that are whole still. I mean modern era by 1980's till now.

I want to put the MAZ 537 transport in a dio like that.I'm working on the transport now.

Happy Modeling
Tom

PS; Not sure where to put this if I posted it in the wrong place I'm sorry.

Ho-Hum.
The MAZ-537 was taken into service after WWII ...
The only major war in Europe since then would be the breaking up of Yugoslavia.
I don't think there was that kind of destruction of buildings in Hungary or Czechoslavakia
when the Warsaw pact "brothers" rolled in to restore the communist order.
If there were MAZ-537's in use by the Yugoslavian army it could be assumed that
one or two of them could have rolled past some seriously damaged buildings
carrying some Yugoslavian armoured vehicle or other.

As for the buildings ..... up to you to decide if they could be located in some Bosnian
town or other, I guess that there would be a few Soviet concrete block style buildings
there.
Maybe you could search for some kind of tourist information for Bosnia/Kroatia to get
images showing buildings? Sort of get the feeling for the style and mix of buildings ...

I am not sure what the building style is like in all of Chechnya but the photos I have seen show the kind of destruction you are thinking of in relation to multi-story concrete apartment buildings. Look through collections of photos on the Chechnyan war to get ideas.

For the Afghan war of the '80's, I do not think there was much for destroyed buildings.

Same for the Iran/Iraq war.

The next best bet is to just build what you would like...I am sure there are buildings like what you want in some war-torn place that had a MAZ go through it.
