G'day,
For those who have asked me, or are interested in learning to make bases, there is a little SBS going on over at Aeroscale. This particular base is for an aircraft, but could easily be adapted for Armour, Figures etc.
Useful Base Technique
Hopefully it will prove useful to the Armorama crowd.
(You can leave a comment too, or just ignore the winged things!).

coming along nicely. aircraft and base. i tend to stray away from1/72 the current aircraft i a m working on is a 1/48 c130 hercules,
i have only done 3 bases, 2 of them plaster. what i tended to do was to make the texture with a old paintrush and stipple it around to make it look muddy, i will try your method next time i use plaster. i need to have more texture on my bases!!

Hi James,
Yes the paint brush technique is cool also. I use that as well. The trick it to add in heaps of rocks, dirt, sand and different types of vegetation. This will prevent the diorama groundwork looking monotonous.
All the beast to you,
Chas

Hey Chas, good work on that Hurricane and thanks for the explanation of the base. I just landed into this world and don't know how to do much haha.
