I was just wondering if anyone could suggest a way to do canvas covers for the smoke dischargers on a Dragon M1A1 AIM kit? Thanks in advance. Cheers and happy modelling.

Hi Tony,
You could use bacon foil, or paper tissue and PVA (white) glue.

When dealing with small "canvas covers", I like to use aluminum/tin/whatever it is... foil. Managing small, wet tissue paper can really try my nerves. I usually end up with a "spit-wod" and have to start over again.

i also use miliput ( 2 part epoxy putty ) you can roll it out thin and then lay it over and shape it with a knife or pointed stick. also it smooths out real nice with a wet cotton bud or finger.
i used this to do the cover over the breech and sight on this piece. oh and the barrel end!
for small pieces like that it works best to just press the miliput out real thin in your fingers, if you roll it, do it on glass, using talc or something to stop it sticking to the glass, then wipe it with the wet bud to get the talc off so it sticks to the model, be very carefully once the surface is wet it sticks very well to anything and then can rip, but if this happens just fold it up and roll it out again, you have a few mins work time with this stuff. it really aint as hard as it might sound.

Thanks for the help everyone. Fortunately this is my third Abrams kit so I have found with each kit you get 2 pairs of smoke dischargers so I have some spares to try several methods. Thanks again.
