Ignoring the paranormal and unproven, what might be of interest is one paticular German aircraft, the Sack AS-6.

Further details can be found here but basically it was a conglomeration of aircraft bits built in 1944 to test the theory of a circular wing. It didn't fly...

Cheers,
Linz

The US Navy experimented with a Vaought aircraft similar to this. See http://www.netaxs.com/people/ebailey/xf5u.html " TARGET="_blank"> http://www.netaxs.com/people/ebailey/xf5u.html for more details.

I also read this book that tied together a lot of the Nazi-UFO theories together into one story. IIRC, it was about an American who went to Nazi Germany because he found the funding for his research there. He and his team fled to Antarctica after the war and they built a base in an ice-free area.

The book has technical descriptions of the early Nazi UFO and also explained why UFOs had to spin (something about boundary layers). I also remember that the UFOs were made from a porous metal that made air pass through thus negating the need for air intakes. The Field Gray/German Gray aliens that pilot these UFOs are bio-enhanced cyborgs that do not have mouths and noses because air and food are passed through hoses (it rhymed!!!) . People are abducted for spare parts. It also alleged that the governments of the superpowers are also developing UFOs to attack the Antarctic base but nothing happened so far because they are always one step behind the Nazis.

It's a combination of fantasy, history and conspiracy theories that make for a good read. Will look for the title if I can

Harry Turttledove writes a bunch of alternative history. I think one of his novels was about how the axis and allied powers had to unite during W.W.II because aliens attacked earth. A friend told me about his books, but I haven't read any yet.

Harry Turtledoves? Go to your local Barnes & Noble (or online) and go to the science fiction section. He has a bunch of alterantive history books including a series about the Civil War.

Regarding the books of H.Turtledove, probably the most interesting to the readers here are his great war series which follow on from a confederate victory in the ACW. The following series creates a parallel USA (similar to Germany's Weimar republic) , The American Empire Trilogy and the WW2 series (which I haven't read yet), concerns an alien invasion in the middle of WW2...... The book with Robert E. Lee armed with an AK47, is Guns Of the South. I agree...a wonderful subject for a 120mm figure.... Personally, though not a great SF fan, I do like Turtledove's books. I do also love a good conspiracy theory anyone who hasn't seen it check out the series DARK SKIES......pity it didn't last long....Jim #:-)

Dark Skies was good - good things don't usually last...

If you really want good conspiracy thery stuff - nothing beats the Philadelphia Experiment/Montauk: Rainbow Project lore. It's more intricate than following Star Trek Universe novels #:-)

I think MJ-12 is rolled up into the decade spanning Montauk legend too. Almost everything is except for the Kennedy Assassination. I'm too falling out of my window as I write this post...

Talking about conspiracy theories has anyone heard the one about the Testor's 1/48 F117 and the Soviet Cultural Attache? Legend has it that that a hobby shop sold its entire stock of kits to a gentleman with beard, long overcoat and snow on his boots the day they arrived in the store......I wonder if the same happened with the Aurora....makes you wonder. On the other hand perhaps it doesn't......Jim
