It took me about 2.5 hours to figure out what the hell I was doing wrong getting these pics uploaded! Very frustrating! Anyway, the title says it all. Just thought I would share. All comments are welcome. Enjoy!

I love this figure. Love the pose. You did a great job with it.
What did you do to the helmet? What technique did you use?

Thanks for the kind words fella's.
Yakeearty & Guy - Yup, its the old Tamiya figure from the u.s. gun and mortar team. The sand bags are made from milliput.
Slodder- For the helmet I stretch one of my wife's nylons over it and then put a heavy layer of Tenax-7 over it. Once it was dry all that was needed was a little trim around the base of the helmet..

Great idea mate. A simple yet effective vignette! Who'd have thunk that milliput sandbags would be the main feature I hope the missus was clued in to what you did to her stuff...

Brad,
She looked at me like she thout I was high as a kite when I asked her for it!!! She was cool about it though. Luckily the wife is very understanding and supports my modelling addiction!

Hi Art. Sometimes a model really grabs attention because its thick with details, but what I like about this little vignette ... is the simplicity ... it doesn´t need the unnecessary details. The action stands on its own, and it captures that so well. I would give this one 100% for composition ... its perfect in its own setting. Nice one.

Thanks again everybody. This was a very enjoyable, very relaxing project for me. Another plus from this was the wife's nylon! Just one stocking gives you enough netting to last a couple years at least!

I like this one too very much. Nice and simple vignette. I have the gun and mortar kit too and already used the mortar crew.
Planning to do some simple vignette with the bazooka, maybe something like the Band of Brothers Scene when they knock out an tank in Normandy.
Great!

Top marks for composition as mentioned, as well as making the ancient Tamiya fig look good!
A very well executed and original vingette, very well done!

Art: first off you did an outstanding job proving that even a figure thats over 25 years old can be done up nicely. Over all exellent workmanship. Secondly I hope you'll post this on the HFM site.
