Hi All,
I've been looking through my spares box and have found two square (early war?) type petrol cans (I think they must've been included with theAcademy 1383 Allied and German Tank Supplies set 2).
Could I use them on a POST D Day vehicle like a tank or afv or was it all US style Jerry cans by then?
TIA
Tom

Hi Tom,
The cans are probably the 4 Gallon "Flimsey". These were notoriously poor containers and were replaced by Jerry Cans by the end of the campaign in North Africa. The British used captured German cans, hence the nickname, later American and British copies were in plentiful supply.

Hey Tom,
Ultracast make a set of British style Jerrycans:

Tamiya's Allied Vehicles Accessory Set #35229 includes the British style Jerrycan.
Cheers
