Hi All,

A few weeks back I posted some WIP shots of my 1 ton Ben Hur from Real Model. It was pointed out to me that the racks that I had on the trailer were inaccurate and a set of plans were pointed out to me. I removed the old racks and rebuilt them from Evergreen stock from the plans. I then covered them with a tissue paper tarpaulin to cover the trailer. I added the tiedowns from the tarp to trailer with quilting thread. The tiedowns alone took almost 3.5 hours today. Now I just need to finish the final details on the trailer and the GMC towing it and its on to paint.

Heres the photos:

Comments and suggestions on needed improvements welcome.

Thanks for looking,

Regards

Your details are really standing out, and making this into something special. The tarp turned out great and I'm looking forward to seeing it painted.
I have used future to glue tissue paper with a good amount of success, it would also work to seal those frayed ends on your ropes, and to get them to point down with gravity.

Looks excellent! But you may want to change the title of your post -- at first I thought this was some tacky update to the Ben Hur movie trailer since Charlton Heston died!

Cheers,
Ian

Thanks for the comments guys.

Bruce, I'll have to try out using future on the tarp, thats the first time I've heard of using it for this.

Thanks again,

Matt
