Hi all,
this one finally hit the shelves. Does anyone know if the main flaws of the original kit have been fixed by Trumpeter ( TC sight, MRS...) ?
I don't find any review of this kit so far and would be pleased to learn more prior ot place any order.

Maybe a simple reissue?
Has the box changed from the old grey one?

Rumor has it Trumpeter will release a new Ariete kit depicting a tank serving in Iraq (with the bigger gun, two shielded MG's and the additional armor.) No idea if they're going to fix the inaccuracies of the earlier release.

Don't have the kit yet but had a quick look in the box in a shop last week, apparently there's a new sprue with the extra armour, gun, etc... plus a new small photo-etch fret and new decals. I'm not sure wether they retooled the older sprues but somehow I doubt it, I should buy the kit next week, so will compare it with the old one if nobody chimes in in the meantime.
Cheers,
Christophe

It's been out for a couple of weeks in Europe.

Read this thread from Missing Lynx from back in March........it explains the changes in the kit.....and the things that are still incorrect.

this kit came in the wrong time for me... i just finished scratchbuilding mine using the old ariete trump kit a couple of weeks ago... then the new one just hit the shelves... talk about timing.. oh well, i guess i gotta get my hands on the new ones as well.. as any modeler would say, you can never have enough models!
