Here is one project i have plans for using it in a small dio of a culvert. I was using this lav kit as a test bed so i destroyed it and wheathered it using my a/b gray, rust, brown and black then a wash of iron paint not the normal use of "sophisticated finishes" same stuff just mixed together and used as a wash not a two part system.

Nice work... It looks realistic... Is it gonna be damaged by an RPG or something?

Isn't the fuel can plastic and as such would have melted? Or are they steel?
That is the steel version, but the strap is cloth and would have burned off.
It looks great, just remove the can and leave the rack. Same for the rubber dust covers on the smoke grenade tubes. Cut the ends off and drill out the tubes so they look better. Good job.

I agree with all said above. I would also like to see more black pigments used. Pics I have seen of HMMWV's and such hit by IED's and the like are very burned.
Good work overall.

As far as how this lav got knocked out i'm not sure i didn't do any body damage that would be visable unless one lucky timed rpg got in the rear door when it was opened that could explain the blown open hatches with damage? But it does have fire damage like warped paint missing tires and since some of the wheels and parts are missing i'm more inclined to say external explosion and the driver went over into the culvert and thats where it has been for awhile but i will take the advice about the smoke poppers i just didn't know if they would or wouldn't melt in a fire i really didn't know what they where or are made of. With the water can i may just leave it and hide it instead of trying to pop it off and ruin the wheathering around it.

You're off to a good start. Even though it's a damaged vehicle, the same little finishing details will still apply, such as filling in those knock out pin marks on the hatches.
For a burned vehicle, you may want to wrap armature wire around the wheels a few times to represent the remnants of the burned tires. The tool handles may or may not have burned as well. Fire is a funny thing sometimes.
Well, not "ha, ha" funny...
This paint burned right off of the tread plate of the bumper on my gun truck, yet hardly scorched the tow strap:
The headlight was also toasted and had to be replaced:

Rocky
Well it is great but you need to put some black pigment in the underpart of the vehicle since the tires are burned out and this will creat a lot of smoke and ashes use the one from real fire or if your are smoking (first quite) use these ashes.
Tires armatures a missing so just use some wire circles.
One points you should remove the tools since this will burn as well as the front lamp
