also how does it look in the box ?? ( pre-made basic, etc ? )

there latest dio is: "bloody Tarawa" in my eye's expensive but if you would buy those accessoires separate it become more expensiver....

My vote would be to do your own thing. buy what you can't make and use your own imagination rather than the same thing a thousand other guys are building

I agree to blaster.why do you limit yourself with the box?Bloody Tarawa is an excellent kit for sure but you can do more and more with 10 figures,a sherman and 2 palm trees using a modelers wide spectrum imagination.
besides I believe verlinden resins always worths to pay.
best regards

Gotta agree - do your own thing. Sure the VP stuff is really well built and looks good. I love it when a modeler takes a combination of different things and add thier own flair to it.

The cost by itself is overwhelming to do 100% VP dioramas.

The only time I would buy entire VP diorama is if I were going to reproduce all the components so that they could be used many times over. I just can't see myself spending $100 on a one-time dio.

I picked up A Verlinden dio for under 30 bucks... A good product, well casted and am enjoying the build tremendously.. If you are new to dios like I am, then scratchbuilding may come a bit down the road...

Verlinden kits are amongst the best, if that is your question. I am also a big fan of Custom Dioramics and PLUS Model kits. I often buy the kit, then kit-bash with other of my own pieces, or just mix and match amongst the kits... that way, I have something truly original.

Agree with Blaster......better create your own diorama. Save money.
Here in my country , I never come across Verlinden product.

do your own thing if we all make the same model what a DULL place it would be, just a painting competition. Can't you see they do not want you to be an individual, fight big brother and be creative.

I have just picked up VP's Building Military Dioramas Vol. VII and there is finished Bloody Tarawa diorama in it. It looks quite nicely.

I would make up my own dio, but if you want to be a true communist and be the same and have the same as everyone else, I suppose that I would get the dio kits. HA HA HA!

Keith,
did you check out Monroe Perdu yet ? They only have a few products, but they are really nice. Most bases are a combination of plaster (HIGH quality !) and cut paper (!!!). I'm sure this is a technique that will interest you.

Here's an example...

Verlinden's got nice things, but several other modern brands give better price/quality... if you don't like to build your own buildings. Which is MUCH more fun !

I just came across this thread because I now have one of these dio kits. I gotta tell you this thing is amazing. Even if you were to build it out of the box it would be close to one of a kind due to its limited run (so I understand).

Simply amazing kit.

Their resin bases , ie- streetfighter are great. Sharp resin detail . Just need to know how to paint..that's the hard part. Worth every penny.

I have built a few Verlinden dios, and scratch built my own too. Which one is best? depends on time scale, if I want something quick go for the Verlinden, but add my own bits to it to personalise it. If I have loads of time to spend on the dio I go for scratch, as it's 1. cheaper and 2. you are using your own imagination.
