The attached pics show a completed Italeri Dodge Ambulance. It is finished with airbrushed Model Master acrylic and weathered with the Rustall Weathering System, and MIG powders. The chained tires are from Tank Work Shop, and the interior includes some stretchers and blankets made from Magic-Sculpt, The driver/and passenger side kit door window glass did not fit worth a hoot, so the ambulance is shown with the main windows rolled down, with acetate replicating the window vents. The decals silvered on me a bit, especially the hood numbers and roof ambulance decal. They were applied with Solvaset, left to dry, and then I tried to weather them in as best a I could.
Thanks for looking.
Steve

Outstanding...the weathering is great and the interior is excellent.
My only thought would be it looks out of place for tires with chains and no mud. Wheels are too clean for chains. But thats just my opinion.
Even with that, it is still great looking.

Hi Steve,
Nice work on the Dodge, finished product looks great.
Good to see another one, you've done an excellent job, I like the chains and the overall finish looks terrific.
I re-vamped one of these for one of my LCM 3's, the vehicle has a really cool shape to it.
Have you build it as a stand alone or have you further plans for it?
Nice one.

Excellent Steve. Love the faded and weathered green ... and the contrasting red-cross colours. The decals sit perfectly ... just like they were painted on. Must say you´ve made a top job of this old kit, and really show what some skills can do to these oldies. have you scratched the stretchers on the inside ... Looks like they´re bulked out some more?
Really makes me want to build this myself! Nice one.

My appreciation to those that have taken the time to post.
Alan, yes sir--the ambulance is going into a diorama featuring a motorcycle accident scene. Various figures for the dio are currently being painted, and two of the Tamiya Harley motorcycles, have been completed for it so far. The base scene is in my head, but not yet started
Thanks again.
Steve
I realize in these pics, the cycles look over dry brushed, but when viewed by the eye, this highlighting is not perceived. I added some wire underneath the seats to simulate the seat springs, and also added thin plastic strip for the front and rear fenders. One cycle has suffered front fork/wheel damage, the other is intact.

Nice job,Steve. Did you gloss over the decals after they dried/ Sometimes I have found that to help on thicker filmed decals.

Excellent job! Looks like you've got the weathered look just right. I love to see these older kits done up nicely. Just proves that these kits shouldn't just be written off. Well done.

I got really confused reading this thread as I'm sure I'd seen the diorama Steve was planning, then I looked at the thread post dates - another one come up from way back.
Anyway for those who have read this far please find the following link to the finished diorama.
Great stuff.

Looks great Steve...very imaginative. I hope my Dodge Ambulance turns out half as nice when I get around to building it. Thanks for sharing.

great ambulance... i want one! why doesn't italeri re-release their older kits more regulally? as regards to the harley's nice... but you might want to add the brake levers on the handle bars... not a criticism just a suggestion. cheers Ant.
