Hi guys,
Wich is the correct standard interior color for the sand painted M1114 Humvee (OIF)?
a) The same external sand
b) Green
c) Both are correct
Iīll make mine with Mig conversion set.
Thanks for the light!
Bye,
Marcelo

Usually, they are medium green on the interior.

I use Tamiya Olive Green or NATO Green for the interior, I find those the best match, but I always though on an open Humvee, say in OIF, that they would give it a sand finish.

Testors Model Master Medium Green is the same as NATO green as in the green on a NATO Camo vehicle. If the HMMWV is open-topped, it is usually sand, or whatever the exterior color is. M1114s are up armored with closed tops. They come from the AM General factory in overall green, then get rebuilt as up armored HMMWVs at a factory in TX. Once the up armoring is complete, they get painted sand on the exterior and the interior remains green.

Looking at Humvee pics on Concord and Histoire et Collection books, I can see both colours on M-1025 but the more common were the green interior.

Thanks guys,
Iīll make mine in NATO green interior.
Now, about the ASK armor kit. Is/was(?) this kit used for both ARMY and Marines Humvees or only for one of the branches? I have one Eduard set for ASK and Iīd like to build another Humvee, now an M1025 and I donīt know exactly by the picures if they were aplyed to USMC or Army or both.
Thanks again!

ASK was used on both Army and Marine HMMWVs.
Yes, you are correct, but we are talking about M1114 Up-Armored HMMWVs, not M1025s. All M1114s are built on new chassis/bodies that come in green from the factory and only have the exterior painted sand.

I have read the Osprey book about Humvee, and they said that the armour kits were developed separately, so I suppose that Army used one ASK and Marines another kind of ASK.
