Does anyone think it would be feasible to "kitbash" the AFV Club M5A1 with the front upper hull from the old Tamiya M8 HMC?

If doable, depending on how the hull mods came out, then I would decide if the Tamiya turret or the new Tank Workshop turret would be used to crown the tiny beast, along with whatever other AM would be appropriate.

I realize that if I do go down this road, AFV Club will most likely put out an M8 variant of their own OOB, but look and fun (aggravation) I would miss.

Very cool! I did not know that. The last time I was on TMD's site I saw the M8 turret and the conversion for the Staghound, but not a conversion for the M5a1. I will be going there momentarily for a look-see. A dedicated conversion set definitely sounds like an easier way to go.

Thank you!
