hello. here are the plans for my new dio. just ordered the tasco kubelwagen. verlinden german recce patrol and european street.
i am wondering what opel blitz kit to use. the germans with the kubelwagen are lost. and are consulting a civvilian/officer (undecided) and germans are loading goodies form a local store into the back of the opel blitz for their kamrades

anny corrections or ideas

Hello,

Your idea seems fine. One thing you could do is slightly alter the position of the Blitz truck. If it's loading goods from a warehouse on the street side, position the end of the truck towards that side. If its loading goods at the water side, get it more to that side of the street.

Right now it's blocking the entire road which would seem strange when loading or unloading goods...

Other than that the only thing I can say is: get started

It could be many situations including looting,,,,,,,,,,,,,, spoils of war,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, trading with sympathetic or un-sympathetic locals,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, evacuation of friendlies who took over shops in occupied areas,,,,,,,,,,,,, or even helping them into the shop - you tell the story and you have the models as the props.

If it were occupation or evacuation of friendlies who took over the shop you could have some subtle vandalism such as nazi propoganda or free French or Orange (Holland) graffiti on windows, walls or doors.

Lots of options

Looking forward to the story line

looting sounds good. the idea of a german coming out of the house with a nice persian rug under his arm or something along those lines sounds good!

Hi jimmy
Personally I would have it so that the kubelwagen was coming from the opposite direction of the road, the shop at one end of the dio with the opel partially on the kerb, with the rear at the shop front and then a motorcycle with sidecar the kubelwagen guys asking where they are and the motorbike guys chatting with the opel guys and the opel guys looting the house/shop. Heres a pic, I hope u dont mind:

Just my two penny's worth. HTH. Nick

Hey nick!
i will lay it all out when the base is built.
the opel on the kerb is perfect, it just depends on which side looks better with the building as you see i am using
Verlinden Europen street section
im not to sure about the bike, i have a bike alone without a sidecar, if i was to put in a bike i would probably use that, (Would the bike be feild grey or dunkelgelb)
(this is based around the time of the landings of '44)
pictures of the recce figures soon!

You could have the poor, distrought shopkeeper being kept at bay by the motorcycle crew as the others get on with packing their ill gotten gains! Level of anger dependant on the type of figures and heads you can get.

All the best
