Hi.
Can I build this tank with slat armor?
I´ve seen this on other tanks, but not on this.....
Thought about the rear of the hull and the turret.
The tank is the 1:35 Revell(Zvezda?) kit in 1:35

Well, I haven't seen a T-72B with slat armor but I've seen a T-72BM... Miniarm makes a good conversion set for the Tamiya T-72M1. Remember that the T-72BM look a lot like the T-90, even it features the V-92S engine, so you must scratchbuild the entire exhaust. Hope this helps. Most regards.

Cookie Sewell did a history & build of the T-72B Rogatka in MilMod earlier this year - Jan 11 & Feb 1 issues. Worth the read

Most likely the T-72B did not have the "slat armor" but I have seen pictures of the T-72BV (T-72B with the K-1/3 ERA bricks) that have the slat armor...most likely from Chechnya.

There is no such thing as T-72BV, model B was designed with ERA in mind. There were no specialized slat armor kits for MBTs until recently, but you can assume that some crews might have improvised a bit.

I know George, that is why I made teh () distinction, but I also do not want to overburden some of those who do not want to get into that end of the discussion.
Suffice it to say that there are T-72B with no ERA or Mounting points that would NOT have the slat armor, and there are T-72B with the Mounted K-1/3 ERA bricks that MIGHT have had the slat armor. I agree with George that it looks to be locally made, if not crew made, and not a army-issue piece of equipment, unlike what is on the T-72 derived BMPT Ramka.
Better?
