Hi everyone,
I finished up this one the ther day. Tamiya's french armored carrier UE. A very nice kit, where everything fits just like it is supposed to. I built it straight out of the box. The only thing I changed were the rivets in the front part. I made them myself because I had to do some sanding there and therefore the rivets got lost.
I lacquered the model with Tamiya Acrylics, gave it a few filters with oils and did some washes at the most important spots. The final treatment was done with pigments in different shades.
The stuff in the trailer and trunk looks a little shiny which isn't the case in reality. Maybe that has something to do with taking the pictures.
Anyway, please let me know what you think!
Regards,
Heli

At first glance it looks a little too clean and the stores could do with some more work, however the shading that is on the flat surfaces and the build is excellent.

Hi Heli. Constructively, I'm not a big fan of moulded bedrolls, tarps etc. and would be inclined to replace with something from tissue. That aside, I think you've done a superb job. Weathering looks fantastic and to me is enough (vehicles have to get a little dirty before they get a lot dirty, right?)
I've been wavering back and forth over picking this up. After seeing your build it really makes me want to get one!

Hi Heli,
Vehicle looks excellent. I'd agree about the stowage try and make it a bit more random.
Nice work.

Hi Heli,
beautiful done, looks like a small gem. I like your weathering, not overdone and for me it's enough dirt. Keep on!

Thanks guys!
I appreciate your comments! You are absolutely right about the stowage. The molded equipment is not really great material to work with. I am not very happy about it myself and am probably going to exchange it (at least the bedrolls) with homemade ones (magic sculp)
For everyone else who has thought about building this one! Go for it! It is a really nice kit with absolutely no flaws! I got this one as a gift and probably wouldn't have bought it for myself but after building it, I have to admit that it was a lot of fun and a really nice, relaxing kit in between other projects. Plus, it really is something you don't get to see everyday.
Cheers,
Heli
