Great job. The exhaust pipe looks perfect. Could you provide some detail on how you did the finish on the exhaust pipe.
Your tarp looks very convincing. How about some details on that also.

Very nice, the weathering is excellent. Love the details like the drivers cards in the passenger windshield or the coolers in the back. Nice work with the cargo canvas and the tie down clips on the cab cover.
The only thing I see missing is bumper numbers???
Figure is great. I know that it is like to make truckload of details, and this load is tremendous.
Rounds Complete!!

Love it!! The weathering and overall finish is spot on, it looks simply fantastic loaded down with all that kit, and the tarp looks excellent. This is really a feast for the eyes, with tons of lovely little details lurking about.

Beautiful work. I like where the bumper numbers were painted over. Much beyond my skill, but I do offer a suggestion. The concertina wire on the hood is too dark. If its not attached try dry brushing it with aluminum or something to make it a bit lighter. See the attached photo. Great work.

Dear all,
thanks a lot for your positive comments. Itīs great hearing that the six-month effort worth. To answer your questions...
1) Sorry, I donīt know where the figure comes from. Recently on a modelshow I bought a bag of figures for very reasonable price. Unfortunately none of them was in a original box.
2) The exhaust pipe was painted with redbrown enamel and then here&there overpainted with more orange shade with almost a dry brush. Also some gunmetal color was used to give it a little bit iron look
3) The mud was done simply with a CMK pigments fixed with a mat lacquer. The whole truck's lower part was then airbrushed with an dust coat.
4) A lack of prints made me do this with the ID numbers. I saw several pics with vehicles having their codes covered with a tape (security reasons I suppose) and this is what I tried to simulate.
Thanks again for all your comments.
Regards
Jiri

Hi,
looks amazing. The weathering like the other say ist just perfect. Itīs a little masterpiece and an Inspiration to get this Level of modeling. The Figure looks very real and i like your work on that BDU. Som Information on that Figure. It is from Hobby-Fan and comes with three others in a box. Itīs HF501 U.S. Army in Vietnam (Mechanized). A very good set with fine Details. The arms i think are from one of the Verlinden Vietnam sets. Very good work at all and look forward to see more of your outstanding work.
Greetings
Stefan

Looks great. The details and finish are really nicely done. The only thing I see "wrong" with it is some of the gear is modern (OIF) and was not around in ODS. The most glaring examples are the sleeping bag in the stuff sack and the larger, squarish MRE boxes. I am assuming you used the Tamiya Modern US Equipment set. A lot of the items in it are post 2002/'03 pieces. Sleeping bags in ODS were the old green bags that did a poor job of keeping you warm. ODS MRE Boxes were more flat and rectangular. Good job overall. The devil is in the details though.

Jiri,
beautiful work. Looks just like one of the M35A2's in my unit in Iraq in '91. Our maintenance section flipped the front part of the canvas over so they could stand up with their M-60 sitting on the cab top. The tape over the bumper numbers looks great. We were told to cover them up on our trucks and howitzers for security reasons I guess it was a secret we were there, in the desert, in Iraq. Looks great, really takes me back.

Great work, truly amazing. Could you tell me what your tarp was made of, and how it was painted.

Dear Gino,
thanks for your info. You are right about the "historical" mistakes, but tell me how the hell can you see the squarish MRE boxes?! They are all in the very front area of the truck and almost completely hidden with other clutter. I confess I didnīt do that with purpose, but when read your comment I went to see the kit again and realized the the visible MRE boxes are only the "flat" ones, which should be correct...
Yeap, the Tamyiaīs sleeping bag seems incorrect ...well, what should I say
However, check my August 1990 Playmate Erika Eleniak ...no time mistake with this item

Dear Jeff,
thanks for your positive comment. FYI... both the driverīs cab and the rear area has been covered with a tarp simply made of office paper. Unfortunately, I crumpled it too much I think, but hopefully it looks as a tarp at least.
It was painted with enamels, airbrushed darker shade to the mid-ares to give it a little depth and finished with a slight drybrush. Of course matt overcoat and weathering with pigments.
Thanks again
