I just stumbled across this on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250213565487%0A&refitem=250223714306%0A&itemcount=4%0A&refwidgetloc=selling_manager_email%0A&usedrule1=CategoryProximity%0A&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget%0A&isfrommerc=1%0A

A good idea in theory perhaps - to get round the complexities involved in painting WSS camo on figures.

But I'd imagine that in practice it's horrendously difficult to apply properly (especially in 1/35) and also - what about shading and highlighting?

I can see this going down in history as one of those short-lived seemed-like-a-good-idea-at-the-time "brainwaves".

But I might be wrong. Does anyone here have any experience with this stuff?

Yeah I have some. It is "fun" to cut it to the proper shape, but it reacts very well to Micro Sol type solutions as it is very thin. For a helmet cut out an octogon shape and cut a small line at the corners. Soak in water and apply to the helmet. I usually soak a q-tip in the micro sol and apply it that way so I can also conform it to the part. You will have extra material, don't worry...if it's too much to stuff under the rim of the helmet, just trim it off with a fresh #11 blade. Let the micro sol solution do the work and every so often coax the decal into place with the q-tip. Once dry mist on a dullcoat and you are done. After the dullcoat is dry, you should be able to shade as normal. Here is a link to their site for the instructions...http://www.sinsengumi.jp/camodeca1/howtodecal/howtodecal.htm

The company also came out with camo decals for vehicles. One type has the base color, dark yellow for example, and the camo pattern and the other is clear with just the camo pattern. From the pics I have seen on their website, it looks really good. http://www.sinsengumi.jp/vehicledecal/ambushenglish.htm
