Destroyed building I have been working on for the Sci Fi diorama campaign.

It’s mostly scratched from ¼” drywall and foam core board. Wood is a coffee stirrer.

The brick is from the old Tamiya set, heavily weathered w/ the old Dremel tool.

That’s not the finish (it’s not even primed yet).

Looks great. Well used materials. That is seriously that old Tamiya brick wall set?!? You did a convincing job with the damages.

The figure is creeping me out, it keeps following the viewer around...

Hey really good job Neo! The use of the Tamiya brick set is well justified with your alterations. The kerbside looks great as does the pavement. So will you end up with a similar shade to what the bricks have now?

Thanks guys.

Yup - that really is the Tamiya brick wall set. I had to "channel" my inner Shep Paine.

LMAO

Was in my spares box for 30 years. I spent zero money on this - use what you've got no?

I'll paint it the standard red / brown brick mix of colors.

Nicely done, love the layers and different textures.
You've done it before and you did it again. You found a good use for the Tamiya brick set.

Well done.

Hey Scott,

Thanks for the kind words.

Working on busting up stuff for the debris piles (to be placed around walls) right now.Going to be HUGE.

I'm thinking of carving a skull or body to be buried under one of the damaged walls.

Very nice work - should you run out of those tamiya bricks - both drywall and foamboard is easily carved to look like bricks.

Cheers

The base built up nicely. Detail for detail are well placed and composed. It looks a little bit too clean though. The street looks to be power washed down around the piles of rubble. This is something I need to improve on in my dios as well. I suppose this will be weathered later to tie in the vehicle in place. Over all a well looking build and paint.

Thanks for the comments.

The Germans are a fanatically organized people even during war (they have a phrase - something like "allies in auftin" (all is in order). You hear it all the time in a German restaurant. So I actually left the road open based on some historic photos (here's a few). The background idea for the dio. was people had started cleaning prior to the fighting restarting (I should have added a few brooms - LOL).

Maybe I'll add some workers cleaning when I finish this no? Maybe standing around looking at the body? Kind of post war.

Hey Neo,
just a few comments, first off great dio, just as the others I love the use of the Tamyia bricks!
this dio looks great.
next (and probably most important) I want to thank you, so many others really put down the passable streets and roads, i have tried to explain many times that the roads would be cleaned soon after battles and destruction. I understand that as battles take place the roads may become blocked and covered, but they need to be cleaned to pass. not pressure washed but swept clear.(yours may be a little clean dust, small dirt, but no debris should be accoptable) so again thank you, especially for providing pics.
and last, my only true complaint. the inside of the building the floor ends suddenly then there is debris, like the original end of the dio was at the floor then more was stuck on. now this is just my opinion but i think you could just build the rubble up to the floor level, that might make it look like the floor continues under the pile instead of the sharp perfectly straight ending. as i said just my opinion and no insult intended.

great job, keep it up.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I actually finished the rear edge of the building that way as a kind of visual clue that the building continues but is surrounded by damage / debris (similar to when people cut a tank in half – half in the dio. and half missing). I'm thinking I’ll add a broken window and maybe some furnishings inside so it prob. will change some.
