Are you looking for realism or just a dark green?
The logical colour for an overall green on a Leopard 2A5 would be NATO green as a starting point and then just alter the shade by making it lighter or darker....but...there are no overall dark green German Leopard 2A5s.
If you are looking for 'what if' paint schemes then just pick something you like.
For the Challenger 2 you should be looking at a black and dark green camouflage or tan and dark green as used at BATUS and on the Salisbury Plain....or overall green if it is fitted with slat armour as used in Iraq...try Tamiya Deep Green and then alter the shade a bit to your liking.
You can always go to a hobby shop or look on line at different paint manufacturers web sites....or look at real tank reference images as well.

I have been looking at pictures but that doesn't really help me with what paint tone i should pick. i'm not looking for realism just colors that are close to the real colors.
Leopard 2A5 # 1 standard nato three tone
Leopard 2A5 # 2 should be nato green....would forest green be an ok for a alternate?
challenger 2 #1 yellow sand tone or close to it not worried about finding a color for this one
challenger 2 #2 dark green (not dark olive green) with black or tan camo paint job, there is just a solid green challenger right ?

Well, you can pick pretty much whatever shade of green you want then.
You aren't looking for realism just colours close to the real colours?.....then use NATO green for the overall green Leopard.....or whatever you want. Personally, I would not use Forest Green.
For your second Challenger try mixing equal parts of NATO green and olive drab.
The only Challenger 2s in overall green are the uparmoured and slat armoured versions in Iraq.
Hypothetical paint schemes are very subjective....you should choose whatever paints you want....experiment a little with different colours to find what you want.

thank you jason for your help i'm new to otehr countrys vehicles i know what i can and can't do with american stuff but i'm pretty much out of subjects on that front so now i am heading into other modern vehicle types. I will go with nato green for leo 2 and i will try the color mix for the second chally.
