I was in one of those Dollar stores and they had bottles of Floquil paint for 97 cents, but only a German and Russian uniform colour. It seemed too cheap not to buy so I bought a bottle of each. What do i use to thin it ? Our local hobby store as Floquil airbrush thinner for $10 a can. Is there anything cheaper ? can i use a regular paint solvent like Varsol ?
Plus they had an acrylic Floquil calles Polly S. Is it any good. I just got a bottle of clear.
email me at [email protected] with your replies pls.

I love Floquil paint. It really smells bad, but I love it because I can shoot it through my Paasche without thinning it with anything. I have not had any success with Polly S, but I do recommend the Floquil line. I wish I could find it that cheap here. I did this Panzer III with all Floquil.

Hey, Patrick, very nice work there. I love the Pz III. I work with enamels, but if you guarantee me my AFV's will come out looking like that, maybe I'll switch (lol).

Well, David, I read recently (either here, or another website) that the Floquil/Polly S paints are no longer made...apparently the company went out of business or something. When I was a kid, my local hobby shop carried 2 separate display racks of Floquil and Polly S paints...the floquils were primarily developed for model railroading, and then they branched out into other colors for the military. I bought some Polly S stuff way back then, mostly because it was acrylic (water based), and I had never used anything but Testor's until that time (a fiscal necessity!) The polly s i used was a desert yellow color...I think I used it on a Tiger 1 I made.
I was at a Hobbytown USA store recently, and there was a Floquil-named paint on display, but when you look close at the label, it said it was made by Testor Corporation.
Patrick, that is a wonderful PzKW III you have there.
Well, that's my 2 cents on this!!
