Hi,
This is my first time to post WIP here, this is my latest work, a Hobbyboss Leopard 2A4. Actually I do Love LEO but this one quality wise is not up to the standard. Plenty of works are needed in order to turn it into my designated version and level of detail
Your comments are often welcome!
Thanks
Alex

Some new works within this week end, I have done the modification to the loader periscope to replicate the case when the combat system is used and the wire is connected through the periscope base by removing the periscope. And I have added the missing bolts on the sprockets. And some detail up the combat training system.

Great update. Is that a mirror in the back of the commander's periscope?
Are you going to put on the whole combat sim harness?
Even with all the faults it's nice to see the open turret basket with all the details.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply! Actually I am planning to put on the whole set of combat sim, including the sensors around the turrets, the antenna at the back and also trying to work out the camoflage net (with some new technique, or let me show you later when done).
Actually that one is not a mirror but a plastic sheet with Gunze Super Metalic Silver painted. It can really give a shinny surface for the whole effect.
Cheers

Hi Dan,
Really thanks for your reply! Your Web site for both Leo 1 and 2 are so comprehensive, I do love your review for various product (DO have the shop to squeeze my pocket too ), Leo is one of my favourite topics ever, see if you are going to update your web site or let's see if I can contribute some reviews of my recent purchases
Cheers

Hello,
nice to see that someone assemble this tank.
Interesting build...I am amazed about that you do not use the standard Schürzen of the kit but the new one of the A5/6 which are currently not equipped with during everyday duty.

Hi Paul, Macro,
Actually I was inspired by the fotos on the Leopard 2 from Concord, it shows in maneuver some 8th batch version in action. I can tell it is my first impression of Leopard 2 and it was sealed to my memory, so I got to find pictures and information about them...
Some free resources can be found here:
http://www.fprado.com/armorsite/leo2.htm
quite good actually.
And quite right to say that they are no longer in action, since their chassis are all used and upgraded to A5 or A6, when some of them received the A4 batch 5 or earlier turrets after they are modified to the A5 standard.
Since these are the information I found from various materials like the Ground Power (in japanese) special edition for the Leopard 2 and so may be they are not 100% accurate.
Hope that the sharing can be of help or some experts can point out my errors too!

Hi Harald,
This is from the Lion Roar for the Leopard 2A5 set, but I have taken some useful stuff and use them for this baby. And the front side apron is from the voyager one with some modifications since it missed the hinges and also the size is a bit not matching with the HB kit.

Now, that looks very nice indeed!
I don't like to work on PE but Its hard to stay away when building a tank!
This is going to be one very detail tank when its done!
Btw, can you advise where to shop for good priced kits, resin and PE in Kowloon?
Thanks!
B

Hi Boxster,
Thanks a lot. Are you in HK now? or You are a Hong Kong person? For getting model in Kowloon, there are plenty of model shops in Mong Kok, Jordan, and one very good shop in SamShuiPo where some kits are really of bargaining price but the varieties are not many. If you are in HK why not you give me a call or I can go with you when we have time..

Latest Update with Perfect Scale Leopard 2A4 side armor added.
Honestly, Perfect Scale one is excellent in both quality and service, I manage to put them up with nearly no difficulty within 2 days. With some addition details added, the remaining will be the combination simulation system!
