As many know of the Tiger it has amongst others 4 tubes coming from the rear and going over chassi and connected again, to remind people these are the ones you get in some kinda rubberplastic in Tamiyas kit were they are black and soft, In the Revell kit of Tiger I Ausf.E they are not seen and not among parts to the model, did the Tiger I Aufs.E have these tubes or were they forgotten in the kit?

The hoses you are talking about were part of the airfilter system on early Tigers....these were very vulnerable to small arms and other fire...many times you will see the system removed even from the early tanks...the inclusion of the filters stopped at about the time the mid production tigers began to appear...you can still see the mounting bolts on the first tigers with the new cupola, but I have never seen one with the system in place...Hth

If you´re planning to modell a Tiger without Feifel Filters, you don´t need that stuff.

These hoses are part of the "Fiefel" air cleaning system. The intention was to provide enhanced air filtering/protection for the engine.

Which kit of the Tiger I are you building? Is it labeled as "Early", "Mid" or "Late" production?

If the Tiger kit is an Early, you probably should have the "Fiefel" system.

If the Tiger kit is a "Mid" production, then the "Fiefel" is optional. The Fiefel was phased out as part of the Mid production series... so it's not required.

If the Tiger kit is a "Late" production, then the "Fiefel" is NOT accurate. No "Late" model Tigers have the Fiefel system.

Hope that this helps,
Tim
