There is a Verlinden decal sheet that covers the WWII up to the 80´s .

Just checked my stash of decals.
Hudson & Allen Studio makes/made a set of WWII U.S. Airborne European Theatre 1944-45 uniform insignia.

you can also paint them, as I did with a 1:72 101st ab guy. for the flag, first paint a small red square on the figure's arm, then paint the square for the stars white. Then paint the red pieces white and scratch stripes in it with a small needle. after that, paint the white square for the stars blue and scratch stars with the small needle.
