Heya, Folks,
I'm slowly working my way through the Hobby Boss M4 HST (90mm version)...
I don't have the Ampersand book, but from what I can tell, it looks as if these tractors often operated without the doors...
Just wanted to make sure that it wouldn't be a big faux pas to leave the doors off.
Thanks, Folks!
Regards and Aloha,
Johnny B.

If I was in the frontline or not sure about if the enemy had isolated groups of soldiers in my area, I would rather freeze my a** of that be trapped inside a closed softskinned M4.
I think that easy exit would be paramount to most troops.
Besides its easyer to show of the interiour

The doors were made to be removable. They would be used or not used depending on the weather. If you were doing a winter scene , then they would most likely be used. The US Deuce and a Half, as well as the Jeep, also used removable foul weather doors and tops. I hope this helps.

My Father served in the 749th AA (SM) in NW Europe, He says that when it was hot, doors open or off, cold or wet doors on. Incidently, I asked him about the "trapped" theory, he can't envision such a situation happening. His point was "how long does it take to open a door?"
