Here is the current project. It is the dragon M4A3 76mm, i built right out the box nothing to crazy. I added brass grap handles buckels for the tools etc. I was going for the first snow of the year or a late snow in the spring. I need to finish up the ground work and the figures. Let me know what you all think and if you see anything that looks out of place. Thanks

In all my years of modelling, I have never done snow. So just out of curiosity, how did you do your snow in this?

Well I guess I should say that this is not my first attempt at snow but that was goin to be the name of the diorama........For the snow I use good ol' baking soda, i like it because it stays white for a long long time. Here is a closer look at the snow. Thanks so far guys....

That looks like a good, clean build to me. I really like the way you have the stowage on the rear hull shelf tied down.
The snow is fantastic....You need to do a step-by-step for Armorama on how you did the ground work.
Great job overall.

Robert - ver y nice clean build. The snow looks very good and the way you've positioned and tied down the stowage is excellent (as said above). Likewise the mud.
The tank itself - just a tad too "monotone" perhaps? Also the tank & stowage all seem to be exactly the same colour. Look too at the last picture in the main batch: Aren't the track impressions inverted the wrong way round?

I agree with pretty much everything Steve has said above Robert. Considering there are only three basic colours used overall, small things like making some of the musette bags a different shade (tan) can make a big difference. If I was to have a gripe it would be the total symmetry of the base, including tree placement? Not saying anything needs to be removed, but maybe a clump of smaller grasses or a shrub on one side...
One other thing you could try is to add some gloss to the mud on the running gear and the tracks. If there is snow around, then what isn't snow is bound to wet, especially churned mud. Speaking of churned mud, maybe some brown spray on the snow cover next to the tank?
This is all food for thought, as you have stated that it isn't finished and maybe had a few of these ideas ready to implement!
Cheers
Brad

Hey guys thanks for all the input so far. As far as the base goes there are a few things I need to add such as the gloss to the mud and more dirty snow that is what I have been working on. Plus I have a few walking figures that will be along side the tank as well. As far as being monotone I agree Once I get the tank crew painted and the rest of their stowage on board I think that will help. Plus I will be changing the hanging bags to kaki instead of olive. I am thinking of adding a fence to one side as well. As for the tracks in the mud they are backwards the stamp I was using had a few links backwards thanks for pointing it out. If there is anything else you can think of tell me please. Thanks More pics to come soon

Well here are a few more shots of what I have done so far......finished the mud and the crew, I added a fence...Tell me if there is anything else that could be done to make it better. I am trying to decide if I should make a few walking soldiers next to the tank? Thanks everyone more to come soon....

Excellent details, amigo. Nicely done over all. The stowage, as others have mentioned, looks terrific. A bit more color variation on the canvas perhaps. Groundwork and snow is top notch as are the figures. The tank, looks a bit too new, maybe some dents and a bit of rust and wear and tear is needed.
Great job.

Looks good Robert !
IMHO, the tank is a bit clean looking though, the paint job makes it appear almost brand new.
Maybe apply a bit more of that mud and sludge to the lower rear hull and tracks.
It could also use a bit of weathering on the hull edges to break up the monotone look that Steve noted and a bit around the hatches and hull front.
Looking forward to the finished product, definitely going to add it to my desktop photo collection !!!
Cheers

I like the additions Robert! I think the composition looks good with the turret and guntube positioned as such. Has good balance!
But there is possibly a contradiction? The turret in that position could not have cleared the tree (because of the guntube) if it arrived like that, so a logical explanation would be that it was traversed once the tank was stationary...But then there is the forward 'driving' pose of the driver and his hatch which wouldn't be cleared (by the guntube) if open? Just thinking out loud...
Cheers
Brad
